Yamaha Z300AETO Diagnostic System Repair Explanation of each command

Explanation of each command

1. Diagnosis

The diagnosis codes, their corresponding part name, the diagnosing results, and the diagnostic criteria are listed. List of items: Condition of coils (pulser coil and crank position coil) Condition of sensors (water temperature sensor, throttle position sensor, atmospheric pressure sensor, intake air temperature sensor, fuel pressure sensor) Condition of battery (battery voltage) Operation of switches (water detection switch, shift position switch, engine stop lanyard switch, thermoswitch, and shift cut switch) Condition of operation (injectors)

2. Diagnosis record

The diagnosis code, its corresponding part name, the time of occurrence, and the total operation hours are listed. This command enables you to check the record of malfunctions, which will assist in reducing troubleshooting time. In addition, the diagnostic codes of malfunctions that have occurred can be deleted from the ECM. The items are the same as those listed above for Diagnosis, except no record of engine stop lanyard switch.

1. Engine speed maximum Indicates all-time peak engine speed (RPM), and time of its occurrence.
2. Fuel pressure minimum Indicates all-time minimum recorded fuel-pressure value, and time of occurrence.
3. Over rev. control record Indicates the number of times that over-rev prevention control has been triggered during motor’s operating life to date.
4. Overheat record Indicates the number of times that the overheat switch has been activated during motor’s operating life to date.

3. Engine monitor

3-1. Monitoring of Digital Signals

The input signal of each sensor for the ECM is displayed. In addition, the sensing item that is displayed can be changed. Sensing items: Sensors (water temperature sensor, throttle position sensor, atmospheric pressure sensor, intake air temperature sensor, fuel pressure sensor) Voltage system (battery voltage) Switches (water detection switch, shift position switch, engine stop lanyard switch, thermoswitch, and shift cut switch) Operation signals (ignition, injectors, electric oil pump)

3-2. Graphing Feature

The graphing feature allows you to generate custom graphs of monitored engine data. The program reads the incoming monitor signals and creates the graph accordingly. You are free to select the signals to be used for graphing, and you can freely adjust the various graphing parameters. You can also save graphs and monitored signal data to disk, and recall this data at any time for viewing offline.

4. Stationary test

With the engine off, operation tests are performed.
Test items:
Spark ignition coil for each cylinder
Fuel injector for each cylinder
Operation of the electric fuel pump
Operation of the electric oil pump

5. Active test

With the engine running, operation tests are performed.
Test items:
Dropped cylinder

6. Data logger

Two out of six items (engine speed, fuel pressure, battery voltage, throttle position, water temperature,
engine temperature) are selected and 20 minutes of their recorded data are displayed on a
graph. The operating time as compared to the engine speed and the total operating time are also displayed.

7. Some files

Lets you select and run other applications while continuing to run the diagnostic program.

8. Exit

The program is exited
